Well, just a quick post for now that the update to OS X 10.10/Yosemite went well.
I’ll update my main hackintosh page asap with new steps, new config.plist downloads, etc., but for anyone who’s used my guide and just can’t wait, here’s a quick list of what you need to do for a smooth upgrade.
EDIT: 17 October, 2014 – Anyone using my setup should see my upgrade page/guide here before upgrading to 10.10 “Yosemite”
I’ll expand on all of this when I’m done with dinner and have had a bit more time to double check that everything is still working right. I’m also trying to find a way to patch the audio layout files to allow for “ambient noise reduction” to be used with the front-panel mic input jack, will definitely update when I figure that out.
EDIT: I’ll update all my guides tomorrow (Oct. 17th) I’ve run into an intermittent/weird issue with audio and just don’t have the energy or time to finish debugging it tonight.
Do you have working bluetooth on your setup? I followed your guide and have ‘No Information Found’ under System Preferences>Bluetooth. Getting the rest of it setup was fairly simple thanks to your guide, so thanks!
Hi, thanks for the comment, glad to hear that the guide is working for you.
Yes, I do have the integrated bluetooth module working thanks to the BTFirmwareUploader kext by elmydish over at OSXLatitude. You need to create an account to be able to download the file, it’s attached to the first post in that thread, then either install it to /System/Library/Extensions, or use Clover kext injection (e.g. /EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.10) And fair warning that right now it doesn’t support Handoff in Yosemite, and sadly I couldn’t even test handoff if it were supported since I don’t own any iOS devices.
I should have mentioned that I had the BTFirmwareUploader kext already in /EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.10 but Bluetooth isn’t showing up in the System Report (http://i.imgur.com/vIqCM2O.png) or within System Preferences. I have Wifi fully working however, so the card is functioning. I have the same mobo (Maximus VI Impact) so the hardware is identical. I’m fine without Handoff but was hoping to get Continuity working.
Hey again,
Are you using a custom DSDT like I am? Also, can you post the section on your USB devices? The bluetooth portion of the BCM4352 card is actually attached to the USB bus, so make sure the card shows up like this: https://i.imgur.com/kEOxhdt.png https://i.imgur.com/E6tO4oY.png
And this is what the device looks like in IOJones: https://i.imgur.com/qu9DuL9.png
Yes, I am using your patched DSDT from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9401664/hackintosh_stuff/M6I_1603_DSDT_patched_w_HDMI.zip. It doesn’t look like my card is being picked up through USB (http://i.imgur.com/nhBvKmH.png).
Hey again, can you double check your bios settings to make sure the Bluetooth portion of the card is enabled? It should be under the “Advanced > Onboard Devices” section in the UEFI.
So, I booted into Windows and opened up Device Manager and saw that there was an unknown USB device which I assumed to be the BT card. I ended up opening my computer case, giving the combo card module a little wiggle and booted up Windows again and there it was, the BT icon popped up in the tray. Booted back into OSX and now it shows up fine. I did not think the physical connection of the combo card would be that poor where the wifi works but the bluetooth doesn’t. Thanks again for all your help.
Hey again, glad you got it figured out! Let me know if you need any help with anything else.
